How the Soprano Hair Removal Laser Device Works
Hair removal relies on the colour of the hair picking up the energy of the light. Light energy is transmitted to the bulb of the hair,
where it is converted into heat energy. Heating kills any actively growing hair. Only the hairs that are growing will respond to the laser;
those that are not growing (in a resting phase) will not respond. This is why you will need several treatments to coincide with the growing
cycle of the hair. For the body we space the treatments out every six weeks; for the face four weeks.
Very rarely there will be rogue hairs that do not respond. These may require other treatments such as electrolysis.
White hairs do not pick up the light energy therefore cannot respond.
Am I too young for the treatment? Am I too old?
We will treat anybody over the age of 18 years. If hairs bother you, then why not get rid of them?
The younger generation are so lucky in that we now have the technology to deal safely and effectively
(and with no pain) with these issues. More importantly, we want to stay young and this includes face and body hair.
A word of warning - as we age, hairs become white or grey and do not respond to the laser light.
If you are developing facial hair as a woman or hairs on the back or shoulders as a man, then you should
treat them whilst they will respond to the laser. If not, they will lighten and Soprano pain free laser hair removal will no longer be an option.
The laser is indifferent to sex or age - it just looks for hair colour!!
Our Soprano hair removal laser is registered with the City of Westminster and the Care Quality Commission.
Bijoux Medi Spa
Bijoux Medi Spa is situated in a discreet part of Belgravia, 10 minutes walk from Victoria or Sloane Street station.
We have been at this location since May 2009, having been situated in Pimlico and Wimpole Street. Dr Elisabeth Dancey, creator of Bijoux,
focuses her attention on the medical treatments such as botulinium toxin, peeling and fillers for lost volume. The hair removal treatment is
performed by Faye Parker BSc or Jit Tobin.
How to get here:
FROM VICTORIA MAINLINE AND UNDERGROUND STATIONS
Take the 'coach station' or 'Buckingham Palace Road' exit to arrive at Buckingham Palace Road.
Cross over and turn left, walking down the road in the opposite direction to the traffic
(station behind you and to your left). Turn right into Ecclestone Street, then first left into
Ebury Street. Continue down Ebury Street (against the direction of traffic), crossing Elizabeth
Street. Bijoux is on the left about five shops after NatWest Bank.
FROM VICTORIA COACH STATION
Exit the coach station on the corner of Buckhingham Palace Road and Elizabeth Street. Turn left
into Elizabeth Street, then left into Ebury Street. Bijoux is on the left about five shops
after NatWest Bank.
BY CAR
Bijoux is in the Westminster A parking area. There are many pay by phone
meters nearby but their limit is for only one hour. The safer option is to park in
the NCP car park in Semley Place. Drive down Buckingham Palace Road (downhill,
towards the river and with Victoria Station behind you). At Belgravia Police Station,
filter right and turn into Semley Place. The car park is just after the corner. If you
miss it, go round the block and start again.
BY BICYCLE
You many chain your bike up against our railings. It is very safe (so far!)
